Before using a loan app in India: identity, permissions and repayment
A quick application should not replace basic checks. Pause if an app obscures the lender, asks for unrelated access to your phone or promises approval before assessing your application.
Identify the lender behind the app
Find the legal lender in the agreement, then reach its website independently rather than relying only on a link in a message. Check that the product, support contacts and app relationship match. Refer to official Reserve Bank of India resources when checking claims about regulated entities; Credavix does not certify apps or lenders.
Review data access before accepting
Read what data is requested, why it is necessary, who receives it and how to raise a privacy concern. An access request unrelated to evaluating or administering the loan deserves scrutiny. Never share a banking password, card PIN or a one-time code with a person claiming to speed up approval. Enter codes only in the relevant verified service when you understand the action being authorised.
Check the complete repayment obligation
Open the KFS and agreement before confirming. Record net disbursement, APR, mandatory fees and the complete instalment schedule. Do not assume a small first payment represents the entire cost. Keep copies you can access even if the app becomes unavailable.
Verify payment instructions and support
Confirm repayment instructions using the lender’s official support channel. Be cautious of unexpected payment requests to personal accounts or demands for an advance fee to guarantee approval. Save receipts and reference numbers. If information conflicts, resolve the discrepancy before transferring money.
If something goes wrong
Contact the lender’s stated grievance channel with the agreement and payment records. Consult current RBI consumer resources for the appropriate escalation route, since the process depends on the entity and issue. Avoid taking another loan solely to pay an unexplained demand. Credavix is an information service and cannot approve, cancel or restructure a lender’s agreement.
