How to check a digital lender before applying

Before uploading identification or confirming an application, make sure you understand which company is offering the loan and what agreement you will enter.

Identify the lender

Look for the business name and contact details on the lender’s own site and documents. A marketing brand should not make it unclear who the contractual party is.

Review the actual offer

The maximum advertised amount is not the same as an approved amount. Check the final principal, term, interest, fees and total repayment before accepting.

Read before using an OTP

An OTP can be part of a digital acceptance flow. Open the agreement first and save a copy of the exact terms presented to you.

Keep records

Save payment receipts, account references and support conversations. They make it easier to check a balance or explain a disputed transaction.
