How to check an online credit provider in South Africa
An advertisement, a familiar logo or a copied registration number is not enough to identify the business that will lend you money. Separate the comparison website from the provider named in the credit agreement.
Match names, not only numbers
Find the legal or trading name and claimed NCRCP number, then consult the NCR register independently. Compare the actual entity and registration status, not just whether a number has been printed in an advertisement. A mismatch needs clarification before you share documents.
Treat guaranteed approval cautiously
Promises such as no assessment or approval for everyone should not replace checking affordability and contractual terms. Credavix’s amount filter only compares stated limits. It cannot inspect a credit file, confirm income or determine whether a lender will accept your application.
Verify unexpected payment demands
Be cautious of a request to send an advance payment to release a promised loan. Confirm the business through independently obtained official contacts. Do not use a phone number or account supplied solely in an unsolicited message as proof of authenticity.
Limit the information you share
Read the provider’s privacy policy and application permissions. Never disclose banking passwords, card PINs or a one-time authorisation code to someone offering faster approval. Save evidence of the page, agreement and any payment instruction if you need to raise a complaint.
Use the right support channel
Application decisions and repayment questions belong with the legal provider. Content inaccuracies on Credavix can be reported to contact@credavix.net. Refer to the NCR’s current consumer resources for issues within its remit; this guide does not certify any listed provider.
